An amateur radio operator is someone who practices a technical hobby that allows them to experiment with transmission techniques and, consequently, establish radio contacts with other amateur radio operators around the world. Many technological advances are due to amateur radio operators; for example, it is thanks to them that frequencies above 30 MHz are used today. Amateur radio activity allows one to acquire technical knowledge in the fields of radio and electronics and to develop friendships with enthusiasts from different countries.
